The Dark Knight- Joel Bromley

I looked at The Dark Knight beginning scene to look at the tension it makes. In the beginning scene it shows a bank robbery with robbers in clown masks, straight away the music is a deep slow beat, this makes the audience feel shocked that something so cheerful can be shown as a dark character when people use clown masks loading guns. camera shots used were mostly long shots to see the robbers shoot and close up shots for breaking into the vault and when the bank robbers were shot at to show how tight the cover was and the vault was a trap by the Joker.

Into the storm - joel

The film 'into the storm' was made in 2015 and directed by Steven Quale. In the opening scene it gives you a sneak peek of what the film is based on, (Huge storms)and the impact of it. Afterwards in a different location and different time of day you see the storm chasers tracking the hurricane down. The opening sets the film and leads it on perfectly. There are many scenes with explosions and 'storms' destroying the town, this tells us it is a thriller as it will keep the viewers on the edge of there seat waiting for the climax. In into the storm there are several storms that hit but it all leads up to one massive storm at the end which builds up the suspense through the film making viewers anxious.

The suspense is crucial in this film as it will keep the viewers thinking about what will happen next until the climax is reached. The tension arises when characters are put into a dangerous situation when escape seems to be almost impossible and this heightens the feelings of the people watching the film.

Props & Costumes - Joe Gore

Prop List

  • Briefcase

  • Fake money or something that could resemble money in some way.

  • A handgun.

Costumes

General suits would work for every scene as mobsters are normally stereotypically dressed well, also as for the man that just won one million dollars, he'd also be dressed in a suit.
